Great that you've added Ed McKeon! He's a real local asset. Too bad you couldn't have put him into Bill O'Reilly's spot. Giving that Fox blowhard an additional outlet is not serving any purpose beyond padding his already stuffed pocket.
" Dear Ms Sundqvist,
I don't understand your reply to Mr. McKeon's opinion. You are the one responsible for allowing slanderous and hateful posts in these open forums! The very least you could do, like the Middletown Eye, is to require people to register, before being allowed to post anonymously. You then should review the comments to ensure civil discourse before allowing the post. Does this interfere with the first amendment? I don't think so- not all speech is protected speech. But, if they could do it, you could too. I also find it appalling that you allow people to post anonymously in response to letters-to-the-editor that you require to be signed and, I assume, verified. You have now allowed for private individuals to be slandered and ridiculed, anonymously of course. If people are going to be subjected to hateful comments simply for expressing their opinions, then they will think twice about doing so in the future. Isn't it your job to encourage the free flow of ideas in the Middletown area, not discourage it? It is my opinion that this is exactly what you are shamefully doing. "
Sincerely,
Leo Zirolli
